Another book I read for work since our partner group read it several years ago and have attempted to introduce multiple concepts from the book。Written for business owners I think the plan is easily adopted to teams/departments if not implemented by the entire organization。 Even as a "department of one," I plan to use some of the planning ideas。 Another book I read for work since our partner group read it several years ago and have attempted to introduce multiple concepts from the book。Written for business owners I think the plan is easily adopted to teams/departments if not implemented by the entire organization。 Even as a "department of one," I plan to use some of the planning ideas。 。。。more

Not sure how to rate this one, my org is trying to adopt some aspects of the EOS system。 Some of it seems non-inclusive, too hierarchical, not applicable to a nonprofit space where there are many goals, not just profit and loss。 But I like most of what’s described relating to accountability, issues solving, everyone having a number, needing the right people in the right seats。

If I was a business leader I would be drinking the proverbial kool-aid of this book like a fire-hose。

Very bland and generic in the beginning。 As the book progressed, the tips and tricks were valuable。 Will probably re-read。

Looks like we will be implementing this on top of the OKR work we did in 2019。 EOS seems to me to be a "Best Of" amalgamation of business operational books of the past 10-15 years。 Good to Great, Who, Aubrey Daniels, Rockerfeller habits, Lencioni, I think the Heaths make an appearance。 Well thought out, logical, complementary, on paper makes sense, in practice, we will see。 I heard "Less is more" many times in this book, in my experience most companies' COE's can't or won't do "Less is more"。 Looks like we will be implementing this on top of the OKR work we did in 2019。 EOS seems to me to be a "Best Of" amalgamation of business operational books of the past 10-15 years。 Good to Great, Who, Aubrey Daniels, Rockerfeller habits, Lencioni, I think the Heaths make an appearance。 Well thought out, logical, complementary, on paper makes sense, in practice, we will see。 I heard "Less is more" many times in this book, in my experience most companies' COE's can't or won't do "Less is more"。 。。。more

Many businesses overcomplicate their operations。 This book presents EOS, a simplified guide to structuring and running a business efficiently by focusing on 6 key components; Vision, People, Data, Issues, Process and Traction。 While aimed at entrepreneurs and business leaders, I think the tools could be transported across a variety of functions and even into personal life。

Read this for work, are all business books like this??

I must say it felt a little bit enterprise and old business。 I think much might have changed with the introduction of the "startups" past ten years。 Businesses that grow from zero to hundreds in a few years and where success may be user base rather than revenue。That being said, it prescribes useful on-hands activities and practices that even modern companies can make use of。 I must say it felt a little bit enterprise and old business。 I think much might have changed with the introduction of the "startups" past ten years。 Businesses that grow from zero to hundreds in a few years and where success may be user base rather than revenue。That being said, it prescribes useful on-hands activities and practices that even modern companies can make use of。 。。。more

The best management book for structuring an SME that I have ever read。 Clear, easy and simple。 If all SME's followed this they would be vastly more successful and could also stop reinventing the wheel over and over again。 The best management book for structuring an SME that I have ever read。 Clear, easy and simple。 If all SME's followed this they would be vastly more successful and could also stop reinventing the wheel over and over again。 。。。more

Gives good overview over general company structure and hands-on tools to get your business in form。 Sometimes the ideas are more suitable to a bigger team。 In combination with "Lean Startup", it is a very good base for Start-Up founders。 Gives good overview over general company structure and hands-on tools to get your business in form。 Sometimes the ideas are more suitable to a bigger team。 In combination with "Lean Startup", it is a very good base for Start-Up founders。 。。。more

Useful information (the company I work for has implemented EOS and it's working well), but the book itself could be about 1/5th of the length。 Too many anecdotes, too long winded in getting his points across。 Useful information (the company I work for has implemented EOS and it's working well), but the book itself could be about 1/5th of the length。 Too many anecdotes, too long winded in getting his points across。 。。。more

Great book on creating processes to bring your business to the next level。

Great read on how to harness and rein in your young company。 Techniques make sense and multiple examples of how they impact a company once applied。 Make this a Rock for your next quarter of reading。

Alexis Scriven

A great system for leaders to implement in their business。 As an employee of a company ran on EOS and the traction model, this was great to understand the meaning behind each system in place and take notes on small things we can change to be more effective and efficient。

Let's agree that for any and all business books, the ultimate goal is not to enjoy the writing and content。 Those don't matter if the tangible value produced by application of its principles is not implementable, sustainable, and beneficial over the long run。I read this one year ago before taking our company through the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) implementation, however waited to review this book until I could see how this system rolls out in practice。One year later, I can confidentl Let's agree that for any and all business books, the ultimate goal is not to enjoy the writing and content。 Those don't matter if the tangible value produced by application of its principles is not implementable, sustainable, and beneficial over the long run。I read this one year ago before taking our company through the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) implementation, however waited to review this book until I could see how this system rolls out in practice。One year later, I can confidently say this is a fantastic system。 We've lightly tweaked some parts with slight modification (less than 10%) that fits our team without violating the core concepts, while integrating the other 90% exactly as stated in this book。 Across the board our leadership team quantitatively recognizes we're succeeding more as a business and a team by virtue of this system。NOTE: The parent company of this literature and training strongly encourages you utilize one of their licensed EOS Implementers to get the full value of this system。 I support that suggestion, however we did not do so and still felt we gained all the benefits。 By virtue of my position in our organization, I signed up through the EOS website for the exact same training that is provided to all EOS Implementers。 Once I carefully went through all the content (of which there is a LOT), and took copious notes - including typing out all their training videos verbatim, I inactivated the account。 For the fee of four months membership, one can argue that I'm an unofficial and unlicensed - but comparably trained sufficient for our needs - EOS Implementer, and as a result our company has saved significantly on costs (95% by our calculation), without losing any of the actual quality。 EOS Worldwide probably won't like me writing that on Goodreads, but there you have it。 。。。more

Good business book, if a bit dry。 A lot of good tips to follow。 EOS seems like a good system to follow--and I am hoping to see our business shape up some through following it。

Though dry, and impressively corporate-sounding at times, this book can give you a simple framework on what to focus on as a business owner。The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework that is presented by the author promises to turn your complex and probably chaotic internal structure into a well-oiled machine where regular meetings and 90-day sprints are the norm。There are many checkups and list-filling components that can sound a bit boring。 Also, the ever-repeating theme of how amazi Though dry, and impressively corporate-sounding at times, this book can give you a simple framework on what to focus on as a business owner。The Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework that is presented by the author promises to turn your complex and probably chaotic internal structure into a well-oiled machine where regular meetings and 90-day sprints are the norm。There are many checkups and list-filling components that can sound a bit boring。 Also, the ever-repeating theme of how amazing it is to have regular meetings。 Yet, overall, this book offers a great way to organize your business regardless of the size。The best thing about Traction is the way the author teaches you to streamline your operation processes, and processes in general, while simultaneously never losing sight of your long-term goal。There are no magic formulas involved。 There is no secrecy or promise for world domination – though he shares how his clients reached hard-to-believe figures of growth。 The EOS framework presented in the book explains the most important aspects a business owner should consider doing to establish a strong presence in the market。Key takeaway?Things are usually remarkably simple around running a business。 You create a product and you reach out to people who might like it while making sure that you are actually making money。 It gets complicated when we forget our core values, goals, and when we start to pursue new shiny markets。 That’s why the author mentions multiple times the importance of defining the core processes of your business and creating clear guides for everyone in the organization to follow。Read full summary:https://durmonski。com/book-summaries/。。。 。。。more

This is a terrific framework for thinking about your business - and the EOS (Entrepreneur Operating System) is conceptually a winner。 As I work with my agency growth clients, I often refer to the wisdom and failure of the visionary/integrator roles as described by Gino Wickman。The danger in this role based model is the real chance for abdication of integration and operational accountability as the "visionary" spreads his/her wings。 This is a serious danger to the sustainable growth of any emergi This is a terrific framework for thinking about your business - and the EOS (Entrepreneur Operating System) is conceptually a winner。 As I work with my agency growth clients, I often refer to the wisdom and failure of the visionary/integrator roles as described by Gino Wickman。The danger in this role based model is the real chance for abdication of integration and operational accountability as the "visionary" spreads his/her wings。 This is a serious danger to the sustainable growth of any emerging business, and especially, IMHO, for agencies。That said, this book is 100% worth reading and using and EOS is worth investigating - but do so cautiously。 It isn't for everybody - and perhaps not even for most。 It is, however, a great backdrop to think about your growth。 。。。more
